April 2018 marks 10 years in the life of Crossover. To celebrate this milestone, we run through some of the highlights of the Crossover story so far.

Crossover: The Beginning

Crossover started out as two friends who met as students on the same audio engineering course. Having graduated, they worked separately in the audio industry for a few years before deciding to join forces to start an audio system installation business. The name ‘Crossover’ was chosen by the founder members as it has a meaning in both audio technology and in the sport of basketball – interests which are close to both their hearts.

Crossover (noun)

  1. (audio technology) A component of an audio system which filters and splits a full-range signal into frequency ranges (low, high and/or mid) appropriate for different loudspeakers – e.g. mid/high and subwoofers.
  2. (basketball) A dribbling manoeuvre in which a player feints to dribble in one direction then crosses the ball over to their other hand to wrong-foot the opposition’s defence and move in a different direction.
  3. A blend of multiple styles of music, intended to appeal to a wider audience.

A Decade of Audiovisual Systems Integration

Almost immediately after starting operations the original Crossover team were designing and installing projects involving video and conferencing technology, hence ‘crossed over’ into a fully-fledged AV installation and systems integration business.

In the following decade Crossover steadily developed into an exceptionally strong team with a depth of expertise in IT, audio, audiovisual, and control systems.

The focus remains on the meticulous delivery of high-quality, user-friendly AV and audio systems, adding value to our customers through attention to detail and above-and-beyond service throughout the project life-cycle. The word-of-mouth recommendations and repeat business we continue to receive are the result of immense dedication; a thorough design and consultation process; tenacity in tackling any and all snags, no matter how challenging; providing excellent end-user training and practical project documentation that is written in plain English; the very best post-install support and on-going relationships that continue for years after the initial installation.

I'm so happy we chose Crossover! This is a world apart from what we got from our other AV contracts, the amount of thought and attention to detail behind each element of the design and audio visual installation is very apparent.
