April 2022: Crossover are delighted to have been selected to deliver the audiovisual systems for the Roundhouse's new creative studios, part of their purpose-built campus set to launch in late 2022.

Three multi-functional studios will be equipped for a range of activities, such as rehearsals, filming, circus activities, presentations, community groups and hybrid videoconferencing events.

Alongside the raft of ground-breaking activity already in place to support, encourage and develop young people, this new space will further increase access to opportunities for all – another step towards achieving a creative workforce that better reflects the full and glorious diversity of the UK today

Baroness Deborah Bull, Vice President (Communities & National Engagement) and Senior Advisory Fellow for Culture, King’s College London

Along with the studios, the purpose-built project will house a co-working space and podcast studio.

Crossover Systems Designer Rufus Chesney-Benson was perfectly placed to work on the design for this project, as a young music producer who is an active member of the Roundhouse Studios.

A key element of Crossover’s successful bid for the project is the bespoke app-like control system that will be delivered to allow Roundhouse staff to reconfigure the AV in the studios from a touch panel with intuitive activity-based button options.

The Roundhouse - an iconic London venue that already works with 7,500 young people each year in the Roundhouse Studios, aiming to double this number by 2026 with the help of the new Creative Studios project
The Roundhouse - Creative Studios - work on the new building began in June 2021. The overall budget for the project of £7.2m has been raised from trusts, foundations, and private donations, with land for the new building donated by The Norman Trust
